After completing 6 years in the Marine Corps, I started House of Nubian as a street vendor in 1989 with $138.00. I opened 5 separate stores in New York and New Jersey and had great success until Sept 11, 2001. I was forced to close all the stores due to the economic downturn. Fortunately my website "www.houseofnubian.com" has been almost as successful as the stores...
